Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how MockInterview ("we," "the Site") handles information in connection with your use of mockinterview.top. Our core design principle is minimal data: we do not collect, store, or transmit your personal information.

Please read this policy carefully. If you have questions about any section, you can contact us at contact@mockinterview.top.

Information We Do Not Collect

MockInterview does not require you to create an account, provide your name, submit an email address, or identify yourself in any way. You can use every feature of this site — selecting roles, answering questions, running timers, self-scoring sessions — without entering any personal information.

We do not collect your interview answers. When you type a response in the practice tool, that text is processed locally in your browser. It is never transmitted to our servers, never stored in any database we operate, and never read by any person associated with this site.

We do not track individual users across sessions. We do not use browser fingerprinting, persistent device identifiers, or login tokens. Each visit to the site is anonymous from our perspective. We have no means of linking any two sessions to the same person.

Local Storage and Your Practice Data

MockInterview uses your browser's localStorage API to save your practice history between sessions. This includes question IDs you have previously seen, session scores you have recorded, and any session notes generated by the Copy Summary feature if you have used it.

localStorage stores data on your own device inside your browser's allocated storage for this domain. This data does not leave your device in any form and is not accessible to us, to Google, or to any other third party. It persists across browser sessions until you explicitly clear it.

You can delete your MockInterview practice data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for mockinterview.top. In most modern browsers this is located under Settings or Preferences, then Privacy and Security, then Site Settings or Site Data. Clearing site data removes all locally stored history, session scores, and notes permanently and cannot be undone.

Because your data lives only in your browser, we cannot recover it if you clear your storage, switch to a different browser, or access the site from a different device. If you want to preserve your practice notes long-term, use the Copy Summary button to export them to a document under your own control before clearing.

Cookies

MockInterview itself does not set any first-party cookies for tracking or analytics purposes. We do not use cookies to identify you, remember preferences across devices, or monitor your navigation within the site.

However, this site uses Google AdSense to display third-party advertisements. Google, as a third-party advertising vendor, may set cookies in your browser to serve ads based on your browsing history and interests across websites you visit. This advertising activity is entirely separate from any data MockInterview collects — which, again, is none.

Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Advertising Policies, not by MockInterview. We do not receive information about which ads Google serves to you, how you interact with ads, or what data Google uses to determine which ads to display.

Google AdSense and Personalized Advertising

MockInterview uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. As part of this service, Google may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to this and other websites, and to use that information to serve advertisements tailored to your interests.

This is standard behavior for display advertising across the web. The personalized ads you may see on MockInterview are determined by Google based on your broader browsing activity and interest categories — not based on any information we provide to Google about your interview practice, because we have no such information to share.

You can opt out of Google's personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google's Ad Settings at https://adssettings.google.com. You can also use the Network Advertising Initiative's opt-out tool or the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out mechanism. Opting out of personalized advertising does not remove advertisements from the site; it means the ads displayed will not be based on your personal browsing interests.

European users may also exercise rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) directly with Google regarding data processed for advertising purposes. UK users may exercise similar rights under UK GDPR. California users have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Because MockInterview itself collects no personal data, requests under these regulations relating to ad-related data should be directed to Google.

Third-Party Services

Beyond Google AdSense, MockInterview does not integrate with any third-party analytics services, social media trackers, payment processors, or data brokers. We do not embed tracking pixels, share your visit data with any service, or participate in data exchange or data enrichment programs of any kind.

The site is served over HTTPS, meaning communication between your browser and our server is encrypted in transit. This encryption applies to page loads and navigation requests. It does not affect the localStorage data on your device, which is never transmitted in the first place.

Children's Privacy

MockInterview is designed for adults and working-age job seekers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. Our interface does not solicit personal information from any user regardless of age. If you believe a child under 16 has somehow submitted personal information through this site, please contact us at contact@mockinterview.top and we will promptly investigate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices, legal obligations, or the third-party services we use. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.

Because we do not collect email addresses or operate user accounts, we cannot notify you directly of policy changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically if you use the site regularly. The most current version of this policy will always be available at mockinterview.top/privacy.

Continuing to use MockInterview after a policy update indicates acceptance of the revised terms. If you disagree with any material change, your option is to discontinue use of the site.

Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, concerns about data handling, or requests related to your privacy rights under applicable law, please contact us at contact@mockinterview.top.

We aim to respond to privacy-related inquiries within ten business days. For requests requiring detailed legal review or coordination with third-party services like Google, response times may be longer. We will acknowledge receipt of your inquiry promptly even if a full response takes additional time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does MockInterview sell my data to advertisers?

No. MockInterview does not collect personal data, so there is nothing to sell. The advertising displayed on this site is served by Google AdSense, which operates under its own privacy practices independent of MockInterview. You can opt out of Google's personalized advertising through Google's Ad Settings page at adssettings.google.com.

What happens to my answers and practice scores?

Your answers and scores are stored only in your browser's localStorage on your own device. They are never transmitted to any server. Clearing your browser's site data for mockinterview.top removes them permanently. We have no access to your practice content at any time.

Does this site comply with GDPR or CCPA?

MockInterview collects no personal data and performs no processing that would trigger individual-level data subject obligations under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA. Google AdSense, as a third-party advertiser, operates under its own compliance framework for those regulations. If you have specific regulatory questions, you can reach us at contact@mockinterview.top.
